  • First Female Deaddiction Ward in India,was inaugurated by Shree Gokhle Commisioner of Brihanmubai Mahanagarpalika, Dean Pardnya Pai, Gandhian Ms Usha Mehata in 1997.
  • As Dean Started Free breakfast for Resident Doctors who work hard and have time crunch due to heavy clinical work in the year 2014
  • Carried out series of multiple awareness programs in the community for schools, colleges as well as the BEST (The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking), Indian railway, Mumbai police force regarding suicide prevention , stress management mental health awareness.

  • Contributed on the global problem of Suicide in first world mental health report “World Mental Health; Proiorities, Problems and Responses in Low-Income Countries” Desjarlias R, Eisenberg L., Good B.J., Kleinman A (Eds.) compiled by Harvard University New York and published by Oxford University Press, 1995. This first world mental Health report was forwarded by Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter.
  • Geriatric lectures on “Mental HEALTH in elderly population” on in Regional Resource Training center for old age care division by ministry of social justice and empowerment GOI organized by NISD at BANDRA, in collaboration with FESCOM, Virangula center
  • Extensive work on the socio-cultural explorations of suicide in an urban slum community to note the gender differences, socio-demographic factors and the environmental determinants of suicide in this population. This is the first of its kind cultural study or rather a socio-cultural autopsy of suicide in India.
  • Conducted two national conferences in Mental Health and Role of Education with Gokhale Education society Parel in the year 2011 and 2013 sponsored by University Grant Commission. Both these conferences contributed in the role of various stakeholders ie educationist , policy makers and teachers on role of mental health in education of school going children
  • Reviewed guidelines to counsel children in context of HIV – AIDS As expert South India AIDS action programme consultation and Several Lecture on psychiatric aspects of HIV / AIDS in Training programme of PPTCT counsellors organized by MSACS & MDACS in India.
  • Invited to United nation development program UNDCP in development of DEMAND REDUTION PROGRAM in ViENNA AUSTRIA.. After that developed extensive program in City of Mumbai and coordinated this activity with schools, colleges, various NGOs in the area, women’s group, Industries, Municipal corporation, state Government organization. Also involved Many renowned actors like of film industry.
  • Also conducted National Harm Minimisation workshop in KEMH with National Drug dependence Treatment Center AIIMS Delhi which was pioneering effort in formation of crucial Harm minimization policy of INDIA and developing the appropriate programs over the country
  • Has been Chief Of Bombay Drug Deaddiction Center of Excellance since 1996: Major contribution is expansion of activities of Bombay Drug Deaddiction Center of Excellence , Many award winning research papers and publication. Coordination of activities with government as well as private sector. Development Of Drug treatment clinics consisting of Medical officers counsellors and nurse with many medications like T Naltrexone , T Buprenorphine and syp Methadone. Also Drug treatment Center have effective psychosoial intervention. The cener has become Regional Resource And Coordination Center since September 2015. Developed three center in Mumbai ie Bhardawadi, Rajawadi and KEM. Also expanded in Maharashtra, GOA , Gujarat, Chennai Telangana and MP
