Message From Dean

Dear Students,

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to Vedantaa Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) and to congratulate you on making a wise and meaningful decision to pursue your MBBS course with us. Your choice marks not only a significant step in your professional career but also a noble commitment to serve humanity.

VIMS is uniquely positioned in the heart of Maharashtra’s largest tribal belt, just a short distance from the bustling metropolis of Mumbai. Nestled within 57 acres of serene, lush greenery, our campus offers a pollution-free, naturally vibrant environment—ideal for focused learning, personal growth, and holistic development.

We take pride in our well-developed infrastructure, state-of-the-art laboratories, well-equipped teaching hospitals, and comprehensive residential facilities. Our hostels and staff quarters support a thriving academic and medical community working together to deliver integrated, patient-centered healthcare.

This academic year, we are pleased to welcome several new faculty members with international exposure, research excellence, and strong teaching acumen. With most of our faculty residing on campus, students will benefit from their mentorship and guidance at every step of their medical journey.

Our institution has also contributed meaningfully to public health. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we developed the “Vedantaa Model of COVID-19 Treatment”—a unique protocol that utilized timely scheduling of existing medicines. As a result, not a single patient required oxygen support, and no COVID-related deaths were reported at our facility. This achievement reflects our commitment to innovation, safety, and responsible healthcare delivery.

The city of Dahanu, rich in history since the British era, offers scenic beaches, historical forts, the famous Mahalaxmi Temple, and therapeutic hot water springs—enhancing the quality of life for our students and staff.

Due to our location in a tribal region, our students gain exposure to a wide spectrum of clinical cases, including rare genetic disorders and unique disease patterns. This provides a distinctive edge in clinical learning and skill development. The local population is known for their simplicity, warmth, and cooperation—making it a rewarding environment for young doctors in training.

I truly believe that you are fortunate to be part of Vedantaa Institute of Medical Sciences, and we are equally fortunate to have students like you join our mission. Together, let us aim to build a healthier and more compassionate world.

Wishing you all a fulfilling academic journey ahead.

Warm regards,

Dr. Daksha Gurudas Amonkar
